The sky's clock has four hands. The year pillar moves one step a year, the month pillar at each solar term, the day pillar each day, the hour pillar every two hours. The eight characters those hands pointed to at your birth — the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches — are your Four Pillars.
Where each hand pointed depends on the exact moment a solar term began, how the Zi hour is read, and the longitude of your birthplace. We show you which rules were used, right alongside the result.
